Holiday Home Tour - Christmas 2010

Welcome to my home! I took the approach that I noticed many took this year. A little less fuss with the decorating and more enjoying. I also tried to incorporate lots of sparkle with natural elements mixed in. I think it adds a whole new level and besides natural is beautiful too! I'm loving the look this year. It started with the wreath on the front door. I was tired of the same ol' and decided to keep with the sparkle/natural look. I layered an old stick wreath with a newer faux evergreen wreath. I hot glued some ornaments and pinecones as well as a couple gold bayleaves.

Next, we have a table in the entryway complete with my favorite book wreath, evergreen and my silver reindeer. You'll notice I love reindeer...I seem to have them everywhere which I didn't notice until I was taking pictures to post! Ohhh well....they make me happy.

I tried to keep the kitchen area more whimsical for the kids. Their faces lit up when they saw Santa smiling at them...it's also a nice reminder that Santa is always watching!
Here's the tree! This is one of the thickest, trees we've ever had...the number of lights on this beast is almost shameful! And after the trick it pulled on me the other night, we ended up tethering it the wall! No more broken ornaments for me. Could you imagine coming down Christmas morning to a fallen tree?? I'm sure that's happened to someone, but I didn't want that to be the reason we remembered this Christmas.
It's so hard to take a picture of a lighted Christmas tree...it never does it justice. Here's a couple more pictures from various places around the house...and of course the kids bedrooms have to have a little decorating! It only comes once a year, afterall.

Thanks for visiting!! Merry Christmas!
